I'm a theatre and chorus teacher and using Cyborg Llama to put together the group numbers of our virtual cabaret - I'm going to have lots of questions as I use this awesome app!
1st question: I want some of my tech theatre kids to be in on the process. Can I share a project with them and give them the ability to export and such?
2nd question - for now! My opening number has three sections - one group of soloists (6 singers) begins, then a second group of soloists (6 singers) and then we all join in for the end of the number (about 30 singers). Should I record and export each group separately and edit together in a video editing app, or is there a way to do that on the app?
Thank you! This is a big undertaking and I will need all the help I can get!

Hello. Thank you for sharing such a neat idea!
1st question: Yes. Anyone shared to the project has the ability to change the volume on individual tracks and export;
2nd question: This is possible to do in CL. My idea would be as follows:
1) set up the project with 6 parts labeled whatever you want, but generic enough to avoid confusion (so maybe 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6); 2) use "Assign Groups" (tutorial on tutorial page of the website); 3) assign the first group of soloists to the first group (call it whatever is clearest to the group, I'll refer to it here as 'Group 1'); 4) assign the second group of soloists to the second group (again, whatever is clearest, I'll refer to it here as 'Group 2'); 5) assign the remaining 30 singers to Groups 3-7, split into groups of 6; 6) each group would record as if it was the full group performing, ie, 'Groups 2-7' would be resting at the beginning while 'Group 1' did their solo section, 'Groups 1 and 3-7' would rest while 'Group 2' would sing their solo section, etc; 7) use 'Assemble Groups' (tutorial on tutorial page of website) to move singers between different groups so that singers in 'Group 3' could listen to how the blend with, for example, singers in 'Group 4', who they otherwise would not be able to hear; 8) use 'Mega Export' (tutorial on tutorial page of website) to export all the groups together.
I love that you're using CL in this way! We hope that it goes well and you and your singers have an awesome time.

Thank you!
If I share the project with the tech students directly through Google Drive, will they be able to see it when they log in to Cyborg Llama?

Hello,
Yes, sharing through Google Drive is how CL projects are shared. Tutorial on the tutorial page of the website ("How to Share Your Cyborg Llama Project With Collaborators"). Shared projects appear on collaborators' CL app homepage. Please note you will also need to give all collaborators licensing to use the full version of CL before they are able to access the project ("How to Give Licensing to Your Collaborators").

Quick question - can I export each group individually as well as doing a mega export?

Yes! Just export normally while on the Collaboration Mode of the group you wish to export.
CL will only mega-export if you explicitly tell it to.

Thank you!
Another question. Can I edit volume "mute" or "solo" at different points in the song? So, if I have a singer who has a solo at one point, but is singing in the ensemble later, can I edit select when they should be solo or muted?

Hello,
The volume settings are very coarse, meaning that you can only edit the overall volume for the track as a whole.
If you need to fine-tune volumes so that a single recording may be set to a higher volume at point A and a lower volume setting at point B, you can export the audio and edit in something like Audacity.
